First Cobalt is a North American pure-play cobalt company and owner of the only permitted primary cobalt refinery in North America that is advancing its plans to produce battery-grade cobalt sulfate for the North American and European EV market.  The refinery in Cobalt, Ontario can be operational in 2022, perfectly timed for the increased demand of electric vehicle adoptions. Once operational, the refinery will be a significant global player, producing 25,000 tonnes of battery-grade cobalt sulfate per year, representing 5% of global refined cobalt supply and 100% of North American supply. Our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) demonstrated a strong ESG mandate, with projected carbon emissions that are 50% lower than benchmarked peer refiners.
