Defiance Silver Corp. (TSXV:DEF) – Initial Drilling Identifies High-Grade Epithermal System at Lucita

Defiance Silver reported results from its 4,750m maiden drill program at the Lucita property on its Zacatecas Ag project in Mexico (option to acquire 100% interest). Historical work in the central Lucita area was limited to regional geological mapping and sampling, while the northern license area of Panuco had historical drilling and currently has multiple drill-ready exploration targets. The results are from five holes targeting the Palenque vein system in the central Lucita zone, and two holes from the Tahures vein system in the southern Lucita zone, adjacent to the San Acacia property where the company’s previous drilling was focused. Drilling encountered high grades of up to 709.04 g/t Ag over 3.3m, including 1,603.9 g/t Ag over 1.15m. We believe this is positive news for Defiance, as these are strong results for an initial drill program and the highest-grade drilling results for the company to date. Based on surface mapping, the vein systems at Lucita have significant size potential, and assays remain pending for additional holes along strike.

Q3 Producer Preview & Commodity Price Update – Lowering Gold Price Forecasts While Most Commodities Increased

Q3 operating and financial results are to be announced over the next few weeks. While gold is out of favour, prices have been trading within a narrow window that have allowed companies to continue to turn profits, despite an uncertain outlook. Late summer was hard on most commodities as precious and industrial metals alike fell on a slowdown in global economic growth due to surging fuel prices, Chinese power restrictions, labour shortages, disrupted global supply chains and a stronger USD. Metal prices came under further pressure as major property developer Evergrande missed further bond payments, impacting iron ore and copper prices. With this update, we provide new commodity price and FX forecasts, updated coverage estimates, and a fresh set of top picks.

Defiance Silver Corp. (TSXV:DEF) – Drilling Delineates Veta Grande Outside Current Resource

Defiance Silver reported results from its ongoing drilling campaign at its 100%-controlled San Acacio project in Zacatecas, Mexico. Assays were released from three holes targeting the main vein structure near and below historic mine workings. The three holes were drilled from the same pad, testing the vein structure at different depths (Figure 1). Results included wide, high-grade zones of mineralization outside of the existing resource area at the project. We believe these results help demonstrate the up-dip and down-dip continuity of the main Veta Grande vein structure outside of the current resource estimate, which continues to result in high-grade mineralization that could potentially add to the company’s resource estimate.

Defiance Silver Corp. (TSXV:DEF) – Drilling Continues to Identify Targets at San Acacio

Defiance Silver reported results from its ongoing drilling campaign at its 100%-controlled San Acacio project in Zacatecas, Mexico. Assays were released from nine holes targeting the western portion of the San Acacio concession, near historic mine workings. The drill holes in this release tested several targets at the San Acacio project area including: 1) a previously undrilled vein system at San Acacio (Veta Morada fault zone), 2) locations with different relationships to fault intersections, and 3) quantify the extent of historic workings and remaining in-situ mineralization. The results have helped Defiance’s geologic team better understand the controls on mineralization, with higher-grade zones located near intersections of the major veins and north-striking faults. These results encountered a new mineralized structure and should help Defiance zero in on targets for further drilling at San Acacio.
